Next to the wedding cake this was one of my biggest projects, a cake for the baby shower. Somehow the hardest the part was stacking the cake to form blocks. Not having any square cake pans I had to make sheet cakes and stack...in some cases "glue" pieces together. It's still a bit homey (can you see the crumbs!) but I am pretty happy with this...
Best part of this was there were so many cake bits and pieces. Bad part - there were so many cake bits and pieces! Don't ask how many meals in the last 3-4 days ended up being cake. Mmmm cake! It was a chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting. It speaks well for this cake that even after consuming all this cake if I find any more crumbs in my kitchen I will still pounce on it!

But, basic sugar cookie covered with royal icing was perfect.

Wow! How did you manage to stack those blocks? Very impressive. One of the most creative cakes I've seen.
